No photoshoots tonight so miss Laurissa is the model of the day. Was fun playing with speed and my softbox in the little home studio. She will be a good model for about 3 minutes.

Another day, another session! This is more than just a stunning garden. Tonight was photographing baby Scarlet. My oh my what a difference a few weeks makes when trying to pose a baby! After a few hours doing other shots and working to get her nice and sleepy, we tried for about an hour to get her in this bowl for this shot asleep, and in the end, its almost funny that she was so mad at us for laying her on this very soft pillow.  Its funny to think a baby 3 weeks old is too old for anything, but now I know why other photographers say past 12 days, they are too old for "newborn" shoots :)

Out for another session this night, I went to my friend Jennifer's place to capture her kids with her. Was a hard choice to choose which would make my blog, but Davis and Caitlin both laughing her is an excellent reason.

This beautiful girl was my first try at a newborn session. Needless to say I was incredibly pleased how it went. She is the baby featured on the 19th and is now just 8 days old.

I spent the evening with Becky and Greg getting lost trying to find a beach to do pictures. In the end, we arrived here where I had a *very* narrow view of the water unobstructed for a nice couples picture of the two of them.

I've been SOOO busy taking pictures I haven't had time to post pictures! I hope the wait will be worth it! This night I went and photographed a fabulous surprise birthday party. This is my favorite photo as I was able to capture just the candle light and its glow as the crowd sang Happy Birthday immediately after the surprise.

This may just look like a pile of blankets, but they are special soft blankets that will soon cradle brand new babies. These are my new prop blankets for newborn photo shoots. Look for my favorite pic Sunday night after my first session with baby Mia!

My festive toes for the 4th of July ;) Now I just have to find something to do!!  (PS - those flip flop tan lines are from Nevis in NOVEMBER!!  Seriously - I'd be a black Puerto Rican if I lived there).

My brother is always so sweet sending my mom flowers from on the other side of the world. She currently has these fabulous Gerbera daisies on her dining table and we think he should see how beautiful they are, so this picture is for him. (The 2 tone one is pretty unique but I loved the white and baby pink... just about every flower in this bouquet is a different color!)

Had a fun afternoon with some friends and spent a few minutes shooting pictures of this lovely girl Chloe and her mom. I had other favorites but I thought this was a fun one with her mom.

We did the aquarium today and this cute little waterfall is the last thing on the way to the gift shop.  I was pleased to get it as sharp as it is with the long exposure (for water cotton) and no tripod.

Today I photographed the birth of my friend Tonya! One day short of fathers day, so this picture is certainly the best to share. Its baby Mia looking at her dad for the first time and giving him a smile.   She is about 2 minutes old.

While at the park today this little man was having a good time posing. Gave me some great practice for kiddo shots and it will be added to my new website (www.jesshoel.com)

Look who came for a visit in the backyard today! I tried to quietly chase him to get closer but this was the clearest shot I got.
